John Dennehy

Senior Exercise Physiologist

Meet John Dennehy

After Studying at James Cook University, John developed a strong passion for rural health working in rural and remote practices for several years from private practice to Aboriginal health to work site assessments. 

During this time John has also stood as the Deputy Chair of the National Rural Health Alliance from 2017 – 2019 and is a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Southern Queensland in Sports and Exercise Science. John is also currently completing his PhD.

John’s main interests are Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, chronic lower back pain and autoimmune disorders and metabolic conditions such as chronic kidney disease and diabetes.

John also specialises in providing care for men on hormonal treatment for prostate cancer and improving their bone health. He also provides pelvic physiotherapy and assists in achieving urinary continence in men undergoing treatement for prostate cancer.
